As a Soul Expressionist, Olivia taps into the frequencies required to lift people and spaces to their fullest and highest potential – translating them into a vibrant blend of colour and texture to create large, dynamic and powerful abstract pieces.
Always aware of the bigger picture, she also brings an eagle-eyed view to the detail, allowing a natural beauty to flow through her work – which is often described as deeply transformational.
I’m the reluctant artist.
It all began when I felt at a particularly low ebb and ‘stuck’ a few years back.
One dark morning, I had an intuitive flash that I needed a large dose of ‘red’ – to bring in the element of fire.
Then, without quite knowing what I was doing, I found myself in the local art shop –
eagerly looking for the largest canvas I could find.
Next, I’d need brushes and paints.
Including plenty of red paints – in a variety of hues.
Intellectually, I had no idea what I was looking for – but it was as though my hands were guided, and soon I found myself excitedly placing in the shopping basket a myriad of acrylic paints, texturisers, glosses and all sorts of other materials that little did I know, were going to play such a vital part in my future.
Once home, I set up my new easel and placed the canvas upon it.
I opened some paints, unwrapped a few paint brushes.
And then stopped.
What on earth was I doing?
I’ve never before painted – other than in primary school – and art was most definitely NOT my medium.
I’d no idea where to even begin. But my hands couldn’t help themselves. They just set
about applying paint to the canvas – with the colours seemingly choosing themselves.
In an altered space, I just continued – very contentedly – being guided, nudged and even invited to play with intriguing colour and textural combinations.
And then just as suddenly, the piece was finished.
Stepping back, I smiled as I recognised that what I’d painted was my very own ‘fire of
creation’.
What I’d sought was change. What I’d needed was transformation. What I’d manifested was a ‘new beginning’.
Perhaps then, it should have come as no surprise to find that within the next year, we were to move to a lovely new home, in a beautiful new area.
This in turn opened up all sorts of new opportunities and connections – and wonderfully, even led to me being offered space for an art studio.
At first, I felt like a fraud: a studio for an artist, who couldn’t yet see herself as an artist?!
In truth, I’m still bemused by it all – but I’m learning increasingly to trust it, which is made easier by remembering that ‘I’ am not creating the art, but that the art is coming ‘through’ me.
When people tell me that they’re moved by one of my pieces, I’m blown away. Often
people tell me that what they’re looking at ‘feels alive’ and has particular meaning for them.
In truth, as my trust in the process grows, so do the requests for new pieces.
Several years after picking up a paintbrush for myself, and then starting to create pieces for others – I was struck by a strong desire to combine my decades-long studies into both western and eastern healing therapies with my love of colour and texture…
The result?
“The Healing Art Day”!
If the idea resonates with you, come and spend a day with me in my studio – and we’ll use our time together in a unique way that’s tailored specifically to you…
This could include you painting ‘responses’ to the questions I feel ‘prompted’ to ask you in the moment as we work together and chat throughout the day…
…or, it could simply be a case of you choosing to find the courage to pick up a paint brush and create something for yourself! You’d be surprised – or not! – by how many times people tell me that they used to love being creative – but were ‘shut down’ by family or school.
I’ve witnessed time and time again that having an opportunity to tap into your own creativity in this way – from a place of non-judgement and sheer joy – something BIG and powerful ‘unlocks’ inside.
After all, if you can ‘do this’ – what else can you do, that previously may have felt impossible?
As well as having an illuminating and fun day together, I’ll also provide you with drinks, lunch and some yummy snacks along the way…all to ensure that you end the day feeling nourished, transformed and energised.
Drop me a line if you’re ready to book in for a ‘Healing Art’ day for yourself – or if
you’d like to gift it to another: olivia@oliviastefaninohealingart.com
